Fear this blog!

http://gerlish-wishes.blogspot.com/

:D

Anyway, ive been working a bit more on the sidebar and i now have links to the 2 places in Oslo where i like to go to see da musik! I hope The Who will play, but im not so hopeful. Slipknot appeared since i looked last. Maybe ill be wack and not go see them for some mindblowing reason.

Slayer is listed but it doesnt say its sold out so maybe ill try to buy tickets again. Argh, id like to go real lots. Slayer is cool to see live.

I can also report that the current #liero trend is to say " :0 " and that Akureiz sister thinks im hot.

Patrys blog

Ive added a magic (or not) link to Patrys polish blog which has comic strips. The downside is that its in polish and the upside is that it involves code and linux, so darka will love it hyper much. Anyway, you shall find the link to this Patrysian blog at all time on the side -->

Enjoy

Copacabana

Hey!

Im back from Poland! Here is the story!

Ok, so i went to poland, and i pwnd as usual. I arrived and my gf was sleeping coz she had been drinking home made sake all night, or something. So, anyway, i got some food i bought some candy, maybe i drank a beer, i dotn remeber now. The next day we took the train. The l33tness hax0r PKP train to Katowice, as usual. It was also, as usual, dirty and slow, but also full of soldiers. We sat with some noobs from a tank division.

We arrived, 15 min delayed only, then we had to wait for her dad who was r!laxing in his car listening to music :) So, we went and i me the almighty and i almost had time to blog, but then we had to leave for beer. Then we went to the summerhouse and pwnd. We brought kittie and her mother kept talking to it, as always :)

SKARBIE!

The next day we went to see a l33t castle ruin (which the swedes destroyed in 1709 i think). It was kinda small but there were still towers to climb and we climbed it and we could see for miles and miles and miles :P 3 towers there were even. Well, it was cool. The kings of poland used it for some treasure keeping and they put widows of polish kings there. Then we went home and had beer.

Then.. the next day we went home, BUT on the way we saw yet another ruined castle (of course this one also ruined by swedes, but in 1654 i think) and this one was even cooler. It had a cooler position and was bigger. It had some window frames left and the main gate was relativly intact. The stone walls only of course. I could just imagine the knights entering the gates on their proud horses and all the slaves went "Woah". Then back to Katowice for the returning train which also pwnd, but it had less soldiers in it. Only one that i could see. Less people in general actually. We only sat with one guy who fiddled with his phone, slept and had a ladys backpack for luggage. Looked like a peasant lamo-flamo. :) I bought a 7up from the food cart and it was soiled with some pollution of some kind so i had to wipe it before daring to drink from it. It all was cool. We had Baileys for supper.

Then i was to go home, i almost missed the plane actually, but i really did think the plane was to leave 1640 (not 1610). Anypenny, i made it and i fleeeew. On the way to Oslo, a chick started talking to me. She wanted to see the view from the window. It turned out her name was Kris (Krees, Kriis or woot, im not sure?) and she lived in Copacabana, Brazil. She had never seen snow and thought even the scarse patches of snow on the norwegian fields were pretty. She was coming to norway to see her boyfriend it seems. I hope she has a nice time, even tho she will probaby find it cold. Its +10-ish here. She gave me 2 Reais (brazilian currency) and i gave her 20 NOK. She said for 2 Reais you can buy a coffee, and i suppose you need 20 NOK to get a coffee here :P

Now im home, home to suffer, home - kneedeep in doooom!

Revelation

"And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour."

"My body is frightened, but I am not."

- Age of The Black Death -

"Faith is a torment. It is like loving someone who is out there in the darkness but never appears, no matter how loudly you call."

"Love is the blackest of all plagues... if one could die of it, there would be some pleasure in love, but you don't die of it."

"I shall remember this moment: the silence, the twilight, the bowl of strawberries, the bowl of milk. Your faces in the evening light. Mikael asleep, Jof with his lyre. I shall try to remember our talk. I shall carry this memory carefully in my hands as if it were a bowl brimful of fresh milk. It will be a sign to me, and a great sufficiency."

"I want to confess as best I can, but my heart is void. The void is a mirror. I see my face and feel loathing and horror. My indifference to men has shut me out. I live now in a world of ghosts, a prisoner in my dreams."

Pelican

Unhindered by the impositions of the vocal yoke, Chicago instro-sorcerers Pelican transcend the limits of time and space to expound upon the stunning finesse and painstaking subtlety with which they command their already indelible sonic signature. Restoring instrumental composition to its former glory is no insignificant task, and to do so with such remarkable authority and presence is a testament to the sheer will and unmitigated talent of Pelican's membership. Levying cinematic melody upon glacial heaviness, they achieve the sort of inevitability usually reserved for weather systems and natural disasters. Channeling the seasonal progressions of various far-flung landscapes, the sounds of Pelican are easily adaptable to both the active and passive listening experience, but their harmonic minutie are best appreciated in a high-volume stereophonic headphone scenario. Successor to the critically acclaimed Untitled EP, Pelican's debut full-length is a cyclical riptide of major-chord mastery and low-end triumph against which one can only abdicate any and all tendencies to resist total immersion.

Pelican's seemingly sudden arrival on the Windy City's (and now the world's) underground circuit was in fact a deliberate agenda shift propagated by Laurent Lebec (guitar), Treavor de Brauw (guitar), and Larry Herweg (drums), then three-quarters of the relatively bizarre and deafening grind band Tusk (for further listening, see Tusk's Get Ready on HeWhoCorruptsInc). With the addition of Larry's younger brother Bryan on bass, Pelican's imposing musical quadrangle was complete. The appearance of a four-song demo, recorded and mixed for a mere $300, followed. Like a large web-footed seabird with a long straight bill from which hangs a distensible pouch of skin for catching and holding fish, Hydra Head Records swooped down from on high to re-issue said demo as Pelican's widely-lauded Untitled EP. Within the year (that'd be this one), Pelican would become an integral component in the hugely successful and occasionally misunderstood Champions of Sound tour, in conjunction with fellow Hydra Head and Tortuga heavyweights Harkonen, Scissorfight, The Austerity Program, Old Man Gloom, and 5ive.

Australasia is the logical continuation of Pelican's still-burgeoning legacy as masters of the instrometal game. It has nothing whatsoever to do with George Orwell or Eric Blair.

Pelican plays in northern cities in the US during spring.

Bodypainting

My company pays over 100.000 NOK in rent for this place every month, so obviously we wanna get cutbacks on that expense. So, off we go. We dont really wanna leave coz its a great place for an office. Its mega central in Oslo. Can hardly get any better. But still, its expensive and i think that if the right deal was struck, we'd be out of here. That being said, i can now get to what we are here for. The BODY! Today some guy came with the real estate agent to look at our place. We are like, argh we dont wanna move, but still, they can look, cant they? Bla bla bla, they might, they might not, but what they wanted was to have really bright. Guess why. They wanted to make a bodypainting school here :D I was thinking maybe they can share my office. At least for the female painting classroom. Or they could at least rent the space across from my windows. Thatd be great :)

The Fucking Music Again (Wailers II)

Arrrrgh, youll never guess. Behind me, in the other room, i hear it, its piercing my brain, rotting my ears, making me suffer! Its... All I Neeee-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED! Is a rythm divine!! Argh, yes its true, its Iglesias, and not the one that makes dry cheese self combust, but the one that makes rotten bread filled with carnivorus maggots seem like a good earplug. Anything to kill the ..daaah....neeeee-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!! Anyway, its radio, so pain only lasts 3 minutes at a time. You get pause silence. I think ill play some Jesu soon. How about now?

Enrique!!

Movies in 2006

The year of 2006 seems very promising when it comes to movies. These are some titles i picked off IMDb today. Just a little thingy id like to call a bunch of fucking kick ass movies thatll make me rotfl and glue my eyes to the screen. I even took the liberty of ranking them in my own special way. You could say that ive ranked them by the "whatever" category, the most "whatever" movie goes first, then at the bottom you find the "miss this movie and suffer forever more" movies. Here we go:

  • 1 . . . Battle for Fallujah, The
    - Woot? Ok, so itll be Americans dying and evil Iraqnoobs dying in piles. Maybe it should be starring Billy Zane? I dont know. Genre: War / Drama.
    Crap probability: 259%
    L33tness factor: 0%

  • 2 . . . Grudge 2, The
    - i dont care. didnt see the first anyway.
    Crap probability: 50%
    L33tness factor: 0%

  • 3 . . . Far Cry
Based on the game. Good idea. Not.
    Crap probability: 80%
    L33tness factor: 0%

  • 4 . . . Ice Age 2
Sequel to an ice age? So itll be in the future or what? I thought the last movie was during the last ice age. I mean, there were people and stuff. Or MAYBE its during the SAME ice age. Maybe ill see it, probably not.
    Crap probability: 75%
    L33tness factor: ~2%

  • 5 . . . Untitled Brad Pitt/Jesse James Project
    Ah, Pitt.
    Crap probability: Unknown
    L33tness factor: Unknown

  • 6 . . . Untitled Edith Piaf Project
    All unknown
    L33tness factor: 5% for Edith!!

  • 7 . . . Da Vinci Code, The
Based on the book starring Tom Hanks and Jean Reno. Another clever movie. Thats good coz i cba read the book.
    Crap factor: 42%
    L33tness factor: 3%

  • 8 . . . Metroid
Based on the GAME! Wow, so clever. What next? Maybe Bubble Bobble. Whatever. But hey, it bet itll be crappy and stupid :D
    Crap factor: 98%
    L33tness factor: 6%

  • 9 . . . Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction
Return of Sharon Stone. She'll seduce yet another cop or sth and itll be erotic and seductive to the max. Sequels are good. Sequels with Sharon are better.
    Crap factor: 25%
    L33tness factor: 39%

  • 10 . . . Hellboy 2
Wow, isnt this a marvel thing anyway? Ron Pearlman, devils, doom and lame fights with lame creatures. Its so amazing, but in the end he'll win.
    Crap probability: 73%
    L33tness factor: 5%

  • 11 . . . Untitled Jet Li Project
    Ok?
    Crap probabilty 20-60%
    L33tness factor: 80% JET!!!

  • 12 . . . Rainbow Six
DIRECTED BY JOHN WOO, BASED ON TOM CLANCY!!! Tokarev probability 70%. So this might be good. Clancy isnt bad, Woo is... well. Known. We'll see.
    Crap probability 10%
    L33tness factor 67%

  • 13 . . . Dallas the Movie
Omg, J.R. Ewing is back. I just hope theyll have Larry Hagman, otherwise its useless.
    Crap probability: 60%
    L33tness factor: 90%

  • 14 . . . Resident Evil: Afterlife
Third movie based on the same game. With Milla? I hope so. Actuall i dont know why i ranked this so high, but hey, we are getting to the good stuff now.
    Crap probability: 60%
    L33tness factor: 10%

  • 15 . . . X-Men 3
Omg, YET ANOTHER MARVEL. At least they didnt announce any more Spidermans for 2006. Thats good. I saw the other X-men movies and they are like... totally retarded, but yet they are kindof good at what they are suppose to be. So for what they are I like them. Go Wolverine!!!
    Crap probability: 50%
    L33tness factor: 20%

  • 16 . . . Miami Vice
Watch out Miami, here is the movie. Sounds good, NOT. Scarface is the only good Miami plot anyway. To be honest, i never really watched Miami Vice, but i guess its fucking famous.
    Crap probability: 60%
    L33tness factor: 60%

  • 17 . . . Untitled Texas Chainsaw Massacre Prequel
    Um, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
    Crap probability 666%
    L33tness factor: 8%

  • 18 . . . Final Destination 3-D
LOL! How will they die this time? Just keep you eyes open. Maybe french fries? This threequel isnt unexpted after 2 glorious movies gushing in gore. But... 3-D?
    Crap probability: 85%
    L33tness factor: 73%

  • 19 . . . Mission: Impossible III
Woooo, Tom Cruise! Tom brings anything up on a list. And John Woo. This movie will probably have it all. Maybe even explotions?
    Crap probability: 30%
L33tness factor: 60% for Tom and John.

  • 20 . . . Hannibal
VIN DIESEL as HANNIBAL BARCA! :O Roman legions, Carthage, Elephants and ancient battles! Scipio Africanus! Omg i cant wait to see it! (Hannibal dies somewhere in the east, not in the battle). In case you didnt know it, im intrested in ancient history!!! Just READ MY BLOG!!!
    Crap probability: 10%
    L33tness factor: 100%

  • 21 . . . Flash Gordon
:D Flash Gordon, this is... well, FUCKING GREAT! But i dont think itll have those l33t birdguys. :/ Not Max von Sydow either. Maybe they can replace him with Stellan Skarsgård like in Exorcist 2. Anyway... DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!
    Crap probability: 40%
    L33tness factor: 105%

  • 22 . . . Baywatch

  • 24 . . . Spy Hunters
Get this... "Former F-15 pilot Alec Sects (The Rock) is recruited to become a member of a government agency called International Espionage Services (IES), specifically joining an elite group called the Spy Hunters. Piloting an experimental battle-car, the G-6155 Interceptor, with all varieties of weapons and gimmicks (including the ability to transform into a speed boat or a super-fast motorcycle), Sects and his fellow Spy Hunters are given the assignment of defeating Daemon Curry, the evil president of a cartel called NOSTRA International, which has plans of world domination. Of course, the bad guys have their own souped-up weapon-packed vehicles, and they don't like being hunted." UNDEFLECTABLE!
    Crap probabiliy: 80 million %
    L33tness factor: ~66%

  • 25 . . . Terminator 4
But whyyyyyy. So this will be the age of war? The stuff we saw in the intro for T2? Maybe Biehn will star again then. He should. Close the circle. Anyway, T3 sucked without Furlong and Hamilton. T4 will be directed by the same guy as T3 so i expect more stupid destruction of a great concept from The Terminator (1984).
    Crap probability: 87%
    L33tness factor: 10%

  • 26 . . . He-Man
Starring some guy from Sex and the City. Omg, HE-MAN! The man, the muscle, the movie. I dont know how theyll be able to overshadow the Dolph version but... they can try?!
    Crap probability: 101%
    L33tness factor: 99%

  • 27 . . . Jurassic Park IV
LOLOLOL dont they ever have enough? Didnt they understand that Jurassic Park was a semi stupid movie and was only good coz it had new and for the time advanced animations? Lost World was the sickest display of moronic characters seen in ages. No computer animation would be enough for that movie to be even remotley good. Jurassic Park III was... well, in lack of the better word for this.. POO. So a fourth? Maybe mutating dinos? Theyll probably learn to swim (which they apperantly dont know how to do in the other 3) and theyll attack New York (for some reason). Destruction is best displayed in major cities, we know that by now.
    Crap probability: 720%
    L33tness factor: 30%

  • 28 . . . Die Hard 4.0
WOOOOOOOOO! Ive been waiting for this. This will be awesome. Everyone with a mind like Die Hard movies. John McClane will, this time along with his daughter, get caught up in a.. youll never believe this.. a TERRORIST ATTACK while on vacation. What i dont get is how theyll manage to make the plot work out. Maybe if they compensate with enough bloodshed itll even out well. Yay for Bruce, yay for Die Hard and yay for part 4. But this 4.0 naming sounds scary. Die digitally-hard? :P
    Crap probability: 49%
    L33tness factor: 100%

  • 29 . . . Indiana Jones 4
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! Directed by Steven Spielberg! Written by George Lucas! STARRING HARRISON FORD! Now what? What will he loooot? Maybe they should call it 4.0 too and he raids some old Apple warehouses to steal Apple II prototypes? Plot isnt known yet so NO ONE KNOWS!
Crap probability: 100% (in the common fashion of Indiana)
    L33tness factor: 100% :D:D:D

  • 30 . . . Police Academy
Ok, when i saw this... i nearly died. Police Academy! Part 1 was a decent comedy. Part 2 was a good spinoff. Third was... well, acceptable. Then it went downwards. Police Academy 7 was the skunkiest movie ive seen. It made my wanna vomit, honestly. But now, Police Academy 8!?!!?! The best part is they already casted Bubba Smith!! The Jones guy too. Well, this might be the most unexpected eighthel ive ever seen. Its even more unlikely than Jurassic Park 4. FFS!
Crap probability: 95% (40% if they have a seriously good idea for this 8th movie)
L33tness factor: Um, 0-100% i cant decide really.

    :D

This doesnt mean Police Academy is the best movie, but who else could win this title? Argh, anyway, 2006 offers more than we need of total crap, mostly in the form of sequels. This Spy Hunter movie might take the price for ulitmate most and utter crap and stuff thingys. ARGH!

Now we just gotta wait till next year. :P

    Busses go Advanced

Today i noticed the city busses had installed some kind of elecronic device on both sides of all doors. Looked like some kind of ticketing system, but i couldnt really figure it out right away. It had some display on it tho. I felt like it was one of those movies.. i forgot its name, whereeveryone has some implants and when they walk past some thingys they get registered.

The digital devices are making progress.

Remember that the last invention man will ever make is a machine that is smarter than any man.

    What is Love?!!!

Some experiments gave men such pressure in their heads that they would go mad and pull out their hair in an effort to relieve the pressure. They would tear their heads and face with their fingers and nails in an attempt to maim themselves in their madness. They would beat the walls with their hands and head and scream in an effort to relieve pressure in their eardrums.

    Adobe InDesign CS

    InDesign CS

Today i have attended something intresting. A crash course in the Adobe Creative Suite. Mainly focused on its golden goose, InDesign. Ive learned some more tricks and ways to better handle myself in this wonderful software and ive learned that as far as our computer technology has advanced for the common man today, the limitation is no longer with the designer, its with the printer.

For 3 hours i swallowed all the information the lecturer presented (except the XML part which i dont fully understand, plus i was really tired and my head hurt).

Now i wonder, with all this new knowledge, where do i apply it? Im not a designer. Sure i can do not-ugly things and tell when a thing it ugly or pretty, but hey, that doesnt mean i can create anything thats totally fresh and awesome. But at least i have the knowledge to fulfill what i want to create, when i create.

Maybe ill make a few more books. I hope i will. Its pretty fun, but i hope i can have some more intresting content next time. The best would be if i could ever finish that complete Liero history book. It would be kind of intresting, but just as im no designer, but can design, im also no author, although i can compose text. There is a diffrence between able and being good at it.

I recommend to all that take intrest in creating layouts to have fun in Adobe Creative Suite. I doubt there is a better tool today

Plus, i ate lunch at Subway and police/officials raided an ISP in Stockholm searching for "pirates". Apperantly some specific IP's accused of stealing 4 specific movies and 4 specific songs.

    [Live] Mastodon

I went to see the mighty Mastodon live and... IT OWNED!!!! Woo, well yes, it was great and stuff and im really pleased.

Started out with 2 pretty damn good support acts. First a norwegian band which Mastodon praised and loved. Then a swedish band called Dozer. Good music. Very nice sounds in all. Even better, this Dozer band had 1. a fat guy (just like Dino the mighty mightmaster of weight) and 2. a bass player that made me think maybe he was a spawn off Cliff Burton. Mostly coz of style.

Then there was Mastodon. First time i saw them was from a distance in an arena. But this was diffrent. Small metal club and real Mastodon fans. Not watered out with slipknot noobs like last time. Mastodon proved to be a very nice band to watch, coz they looked back. You see some bands that just go on stage, play and sing and leave, adding stuff like.. "we love you *city*" and "yeaaaaaaah" or whatever. Mastodon was kept eye contact with the crowd, and mostly of course the lead man, Troy Sanders. With his fucked up hair and beard and active eyes he made at least me feel like part of the concert unlike anyone had before.

Mastodon didnt have a fat guy tho...

Further more, Isis (supp. Jesu) will play in Oslo... when im not here. Thats not so good i guess, but wthell, shit happens. Worse tho, Slayer will play in a good place (unlike last time) and i didnt get tickets in time. Probably sold out the first few hours. :( SLAYEEEEEEEER...

    . . . pics . . .

    Mastodon

    Slayer (kerry and jeff)

    Fat guy from Dozer

omg gotta tell you more about him, he totally bashed the scene like a true metal guy does. Totally mayheming. However, he was so heavy he almost broke the scene i think. The amps were like.. swaying.. he owned tho. All honor to him. (he had the same t-shirt here in oslo, i hope he washes it). His name is Tommi Holappa it seems.

(other review of Dozer from Australia: "Dozer are a band not only of great sound and proficiency, but personality as well. Guitarist Tommi Holappa and drummer Erik Backwall are both spectacular to watch, stealing the visual show. Holappa, a man-mountain, has every Sabbath riff on call at the end of his big, pudgy fingers. He is one of those rare creatures that becomes at one with his instrument, thundering down slabs of bar chords or spraying spark-showers of riffs and solos.")

    So.. thats all.. cheers!

ps. beer in that place i went to ... is watered out piss (and costs 52 NOK)

    Home Again

Back in the dungeon, i have returned to my prison after more than a week in freedom. My chair still sucks, my floor is cold and i have a cold too.

Shit, the plane home had this pressure cabin and it pressured me so fucking much. My nose wants to blow up from inside. Oh please someone, let the pressure go away during the night.
