This is a majestic blog about...
Boxing
Boxing is a for me, very unlikely intrest, but thanks to my introduction to the for me very nice and intresting online boxing simulator at www.vivi.com, the The Web Boxing League (WeBL), i have gotten a strong intrest in boxing. I do not intend to preform the sport in person, nor watch it live or on TV, but i now find the sport of boxing to be far more intresting than it ever was.
I am swedish. You might not think of Sweden and boxing in the same thought more than once in your life, but Sweden did actually have a real champions in boxing.

One is George Scott 41-5-0(17), fighting between 1991 and 2001, earned the titles: WBC Cont. Junior Welterweight, IBF Junior Welterweight, WBU Lightweight (6 times), IBF I/C Junior Welterweight and EBU Junior Welterweight. His career was not one of the most spectacular and i cant really tell you much about it, but for a while he was a national hero in Sweden. He sounds like someone punched away all his brain when he talks.
Then we have Armand Krajnc who came from being unknown to becoming a star in Swedish sports. 29-3-0(21) and German Int. Middleweight (twice), WBO Middleweight (5 times) and WBA/IBF Super Middleweight made him one of the best swedish fighters ever.
Then there is the perhaps a bit overrated, but also underrated Paolo Roberto 28-4-1(13) who was a pretty good boxer and eager pro-boxing promotor in Sweden (pro boxing is illegal in Sweden).

Then he became a movie(star?) playing some kind of gangsta in some movie called 9 millimeter. I saw it, very amazing :P Nowadays he's more of a TV celebrity and his latest stunt was to eat lots of McDonalds food (a la Super size me). He gained like crazy, felt sick. Took him 9 months to get back in shape. Unexpected?
Our most glamorous star in the boxing sky tho, is Ingemar Johansson. Unkown to you? Probably, but in 1960 (june 20) he became the World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Floyd Patterson in a fight which gained tremendous attention in Sweden.
In more "apart from sweden" boxing, there are of course stars like Muhammed Ali (Cassius Clay), Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Teófilo Stevenson, Sugar Ray and Joe Lewis. Some of them had good carrees, some had bad. I didnt mention George Forman who's attempts at being a reigning champion was successfully stopped by Muhammed Ali. Forman later became a target of mockery for his fat-separating grill sales and old-age fights. I read today he might go up in the ring again against Larry Holmes at age 55. At Holmes request though. Tyson, well, he was a supagood fighter, but then he started raping and beating up people outside the ring. Spending the billions of dollars he earned and is now regarded somewhere in the regions of Michael Jackson. Especially after getting that facial tattoo. Tribal or stupid?
Evander Holyfield, well, impressive fighter. Got bitten by Tyson, ended his carreer without scandal. (afaik). Lennox Lewis was a dominant Amateur boxer who became olympic champion in 1988 (Seoul) and went on to defeating the Pro world. Tyson got beaten by him too :). Muhammed Ali got some disease and can barely move anymore. I guess its good for his carreer. He cant go make any silly stunts like the others, so his career remains unspotted. He refused to fight in Vietnam and stuff. Hm, Joe Lewis became beset by a need for money and became a Wrestler (as in the american version of it, where the outcome is decided by the crowd). Disgrace. My favourite is Teófilo Stevenson. He faught Amateur rules boxing all his carreer and won almost everything. 3 olympic golds and 3 world championships (74, 78 and 86) won. All the time, the Cuban hero remained loyal to his country, refusing to become professional to fight Muhammed Ali (and earning millions of dollars). He became a national hero and still is so today.

WeBL
So, now we come to the part where i make my heroic deeds. I manage a few gyms in WeBL. The ones i care about are the ones called Samuraj. I have 3 of them, one in public region and 2 in private regions (Liero and Liga Liero). My my successful one is the one in Liero with (as of today) $414,062 total earnings. Record: 515-237-0. 227 titles. In Liga Liero i am most modest to say i have a few titles and some wins, but mostly losses. The most intresting one tho is the public one.
I still have the first fighter i ever made, Max Equq, dubbed team captain of the Samuraj gym. He's a powerful fighter who enjoys to KO people. He will not win any titles unless he becomes really really lucky, but he does rank around 30th best in Scandinavia.
My greatest arena is the Amateur rules. Today my results there are as follow: $13,490,114 total earnings.
Record: 739-271-23. I have a lot of fighters and most of them win most of their fights. My problem is to get past the top 5 fighters in every weight class and to get a title. Almost all titles in Amateur rules are currently held by the Carpatian Destroyers gym. Very impressive. Lots of counter punchers.
My hope is to win a title at least once! :P If its possible. My first generation of fighters were basically a rubble of idiots. I didnt know what makes a good Amateur then so they were not very optimal. Mostly they relied on speed and using feint tactics. My second generation was an attempt at combining speed with KO ability. Making lots of guys with 10 str and 3 kp was a moderate success. The were beaten as easily as they won. So after learning a bit more of WeBL tactics, i found that being tall in Amateur rules is more important than being pretty in Paris. Densive strenght only, just enough chin and minimal cond and then maximize agility to make him as tall as possible in an as light as possible weight. Whatever points are left to deal you put on speed. Its a more winning concept and demands less attention since most guys can use Outside for most of their early careers.
If i could only win a title.
Ok, enough, box in box out, but dont hit the cops!
